One of our most popular events, A Day at Chef School, is set to return this coming April 28/29. Led by TRU’s Culinary Department, a limited number of individuals will have the opportunity to learn from the best while walking away with a few gifts as well. This event is sure to sell out very soon, so do contact us ASAP to register. This is a one day event on April 28th and will be repeated for a second group on April 29th. Each group will consist of 12 individuals and it is suggested that each participant be at least 15 years of age but know this is not considered a youth event.
What is included?
• A full day of instruction with TRU Culinary Arts Chef Instructors
• Hands on experience cooking a 4 course lunch
• Knife skills
• Kitchen safety and sanitation
• Organizing your day (mise en place)
• Personal Chef Apron to take home
• A Chef’s Knife to take home
You will learn everything from preparing a stock from scratch, soup making, salad dressings, developing flavours, dessert preparation and plating techniques. The menu will be announced on the day so the chefs can choose the best ingredients available locally at the time of the class.
